FUNKE Media Group implements Adpoint as a group-wide media sales solution for regional markets

  • Team effort by FUNKE and partners: Implementation of the new system landscape in only around eight months
  • After go-live in the Berlin market, the software is now being rolled out to the regional markets in Hamburg, NRW, Thuringia and Braunschweig

ESSEN, June 26, 2024. The FUNKE Media Group is restructuring its systemlandscape in the area of advertising marketing for regional media and will in the future rely on the CRM and order management software Adpoint from Lineup. In just around eight months, FUNKE implemented the new system in collaboration with media system partner (MSP) as general contractor and Lineup. Adpoint will replace and supersede the existing SAP IS-M/AM landscape and Salesforce.

The new setup is an important basis for the transformation of regional media and covers both the still important print business, but above all provides the technical basis for the digital business. The system will initially go live with FUNKE’s Berlin regional brands, followed by the further rollout of Adpoint in the Hamburg, NRW, Thuringia and Braunschweig markets.

“The future of our regional media is digital – and with the introduction of Adpoint, an important milestone in our transformation has been achieved. We need the best system landscape and the best processes. In this way, we will continue to offer our customers in the advertising market the optimal platforms and offers in order to achieve their advertising goals with FUNKE regional media in the best possible way,” says Christoph Rüth, Group Managing Director of the FUNKE Media Group.

“The new setup is lean, future-proof and truly unique in this form in a German media house. We offer our sales teams the ideal working environment to provide the best possible service to advertising customers,” says Janina Janßen, Director Operations & Intelligence at FUNKE. “The implementation of this system, which is so important for the future of regional media, was a great team effort – it was the only reason we were able to implement this major project in record time,” adds Heimo Krum, Chief Information Office at FUNKE.

For MSP Managing Director Tim Greve, this project is “not only a big step towards establishing Adpoint in the DACH region on a long-term basis, but also proof of the correctness of MSP’s two-pillar strategy of offering new, innovative systems alongside the continuous support of SAP systems.” The Adpoint lineup system, used by more than 6,800 media brands worldwide, was developed to automate the entire advertising customer support process. It is the most comprehensive omni-channel portal on the market for media companies that serve advertising customers of all sizes. The self-service portal can be used to book all media channels for the respective medium.
