World’s leading media sales technology provider readies operations for significant North American expansion in 2018
Lineup Systems finished 2017 as the leading media sales technology provider, with seven consecutive years of aggressive growth, over 100 employees and more than 200 new publications moving to Adpoint, its cloud-based multichannel advertising sales solution. Most recently, Bonnier Publishing, Paddock Publications and Pittsburgh Post-Gazette joined the Lineup Systems client roster.
This year, Lineup Systems will expand its product offerings and double its operations in the U.S. and Canada. Lineup Systems’ newly appointed Executive Vice President of North America, Markus Feldenkirchen, will help guide the company’s North American expansion as it prepares for continued success in 2018.
Lineup Systems’ expansion plans are supported by the company’s strong financial position. In 2017, Lineup celebrated its fifth consecutive year of profitability, year-over-year revenue growth and a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of nearly 35 percent over five years. The company’s steady growth is attributed to Adpoint, which currently supports 1,600 major publishing brands, including Gannett, Newscorp, Torstar Corp. and Time Inc.
“In North America, we have seen the consolidation of regional publications into large groups that require innovative platforms and partners that can assist with their centralization strategies,” said Michael Mendoza, CEO of Lineup Systems. “North American publishers can leverage a media sales solution like Adpoint to help them quickly consolidate and centralize their sales, operations and finance business functions across print, events, broadcast and especially digital.”
Nancy Lane, president of the Local Media Association, which works with several thousand local media brands and hundreds of research and development partners, agrees. The organization recently interviewed dozens of media executives and found that sales transformation, specifically hiring digital sales talent, user experience and data insights will be priorities for media companies this year — all areas supported by Lineup Systems’ Adpoint solution.
“We are encouraged by the amount of investment being made in these areas,” Lane said. “We believe the North American market is primed for solutions that help publishers more easily and effectively manage their clients, and deliver more informed customer support.”
Lineup’s global track record of success is a testament to the company’s proven ability to balance the needs of large media groups and mid-sized regional publishers, enabling both to optimize business performance and maximize revenue opportunities with Adpoint.
As the company heads into 2018, Lineup Systems will continue to focus its R&D efforts on meeting customer needs. The company recently rolled out Adpoint Go, a mobile app that further empowers and mobilizes media sales teams. Lineup Systems also delivered more self-service functionality and workflow enhancements that enable greater cost savings and efficiency improvements for its media customers. Additionally, Lineup Systems is well positioned to support publishers as they transition from Google’s digital order management system, DSM (DoubleClick Sales Manager), before support ends in July 2019. Adpoint’s proven integration with Google DFP is already used by News UK, News Australia, Amedia and others.
